Refund & Cancellation Policy

We believe in fair, transparent, and compassionate financial policies — because every seeker who approaches us deserves clarity and respect, in all matters including the practical ones.

Last Updated: 1 May 2025
Applies: Worldwide visitors

Section 1

Information We Collect

At Bliss of Enlightenment, we approach every financial matter with the same sincerity, care, and transparency we bring to our teachings. We understand that life is unpredictable, that circumstances change, and that the path to a retreat is not always smooth.

This policy is designed to be fair to you, and also fair to us — because we begin preparing for every participant well in advance, and the limited size of our batches means that a cancellation genuinely affects our ability to serve others. We ask that you read this policy in full before registering, and contact us at any point with questions before making a booking.

Our Promise to You

We will always treat cancellation and refund requests with compassion and fairness. If you face genuine hardship, medical emergency, or extraordinary circumstances, please reach out to us directly — before assuming the standard policy applies. We are human beings, not booking machines.

Section 2

Deposit & Registration

A deposit is required at the time of registration to confirm your seat in a retreat batch. Due to the intentionally small size of our groups, every confirmed seat represents a real commitment — to you, and to us.

Deposit Amounts

  • Indian participants:₹15,000 non-refundable registration deposit to confirm your seat
  • International participants:USD $250 non-refundable registration deposit to confirm your seat
  • The deposit is deducted from your total retreat fee
  • Seats are not held without a confirmed deposit payment — verbal or email expressions of interest do not constitute a booking

Balance Payment

  • The remaining balance is due30 days before the retreat start date
  • If the balance is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to release your seat to the waitlist
  • Late balance payments may be accepted at our discretion — please contact us if you anticipate difficulty meeting this deadline
  • Full payment in advance (at the time of registration) is also welcomed and encouraged

Deposit is Non-Refundable

The registration deposit of ₹15,000 / $250 is non-refundable in all circumstances, including medical emergencies. However, it may be applied as credit toward a future batch transfer — see Section 5 for transfer conditions. This deposit covers our administrative costs, pre-retreat preparation materials, and the genuine cost of holding your seat.

Section 3

Batch Transfers

We understand that plans change. In many circumstances, rather than a refund, a transfer to a future batch is both possible and preferable — keeping your commitment to the journey alive while giving you the flexibility you need.

Transfer Conditions

  • Transfers must be requested in writing at least15 days before the retreat start date
  • Each participant is entitled toone transferper original booking without additional justification
  • The credit from your original booking is valid for12 monthsfrom the original retreat date
  • A transfer administration fee of₹2,000 / $30applies to all batch transfers
  • If the new batch is at a higher price, the difference must be paid at the time of transfer confirmation
  • If the new batch is at a lower price, no refund of the difference is made — the credit is applied in full
  • Transferred credits are non-transferable to a third party — they remain linked to the original registrant

Second Transfers

  • A second transfer request is considered at our discretion and subject to a ₹3,500 / $50 fee
  • If a transferred booking is cancelled before the second retreat, the credit is forfeited — no further refund or transfer is available

Tip: If you are unsure about your ability to attend, we recommend registering closer to a batch where your schedule is confirmed, or contacting us to discuss joining our waitlist, which carries no financial commitment.

Section 4

No-Show Policy

A no-show occurs when a registered participant does not arrive on Day 1 of the retreat without prior written notification to us. If you know you will not be able to attend, please inform us as early as possible — this allows us to offer your place to someone on the waitlist.

  • In the case of a no-show,no refund or transfer credit is available
  • If you know in advance that you will be late arriving (e.g., flight delays), please contact us immediately — we will do our best to accommodate you if the retreat schedule permits
  • Arriving more than 24 hours late without prior notice will be treated as a no-show and your place may be released
  • If your late arrival is due to a genuine emergency, please contact us — we will review the situation individually with compassion

We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers retreat non-attendance due to illness, flight cancellation, or family emergency. This is the most reliable protection against financial loss in the 0–14 day window and no-show circumstances, where our policy does not permit refunds or transfers.

Section 5

Early Departure During the Retreat

Once a retreat has begun, no refund is available for early departure — regardless of the reason or the number of days remaining. We make this policy clear in advance so that participants can make a fully informed commitment before arriving.

  • No partial refunds are available for unused retreat days following early departure
  • If you leave early for medical reasons, please speak with the retreat welfare team — we will provide all possible support for your safe and dignified exit
  • If you are asked to leave due to conduct that violates our retreat guidelines or the safety of the group, no refund is available
  • If you feel that the retreat is not what was described or represented, please raise your concerns with the lead teacher or retreat manager immediately — we are committed to finding a resolution during the retreat, not after it

Before You RegisterWe encourage every prospective participant to have a genuine conversation with us before registering — about the programme content, the intensity of the journey, and whether this retreat is right for you at this time in your life. This is not a casual commitment, and we want it to be the right one. Contact us at Blissofenlightenment@gmail.com before booking if you have any doubts.

Section 6

Cancellation by Bliss of Enlightenment

We take our commitment to every registered participant extremely seriously. We will only cancel a scheduled batch in genuine, unavoidable circumstances. In every case where we cancel, you are fully protected.

Our Cancellation — What You Receive

  • 100% full refundof all amounts paid — including the deposit — within 10 working days of our cancellation notice
  • Or, at your preference, a full credit transfer to the next available batch at no additional fee
  • Written notification of cancellation will be provided as early as possible — and always at minimum 21 days before the retreat start date where possible
  • We will assist with any reasonable, verifiable travel costs incurred as a direct result of our late cancellation (e.g., non-refundable flights booked in good faith after we confirmed the batch) — assessed on a case-by-case basis

Force Majeure

Circumstances beyond our reasonable control — including but not limited to natural disasters, government-imposed lockdowns, pandemics, severe weather events, or the serious illness of the lead teacher — constitute force majeure. In such cases:

  • A full refund of all amounts paid is available, including the deposit
  • A full credit transfer to a future batch (at your choice) is available, at no additional fee
  • We will not be liable for any travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred independently of our retreat booking in force majeure situations

Our Track Record

We have maintained an excellent record of honouring every scheduled retreat batch. In the rare event that a cancellation becomes necessary, we commit to communicating early, transparently, and generously — because your trust is more valuable to us than any single retreat cycle.

Section 7

Medical & Emergency Circumstances

We recognise that health emergencies and serious personal crises are beyond anyone’s control. While our standard refund policy applies in all cases, we handle medical and genuine emergency cancellations with additional care and flexibility.

Medical Cancellations

  • If you need to cancel due to a serious medical condition or hospitalisation, please contact us as early as possible and provide a medical certificate or equivalent documentation
  • For cancellations within 30 days supported by medical documentation, we will offer afull credit transferto a future batch within 18 months, waiving the standard transfer fee
  • For cancellations within 14 days with documented medical emergency, we will review requests individually — our standard policy does not automatically apply, and we will seek a compassionate resolution
  • We cannot offer monetary refunds in the 0–14 day window even for medical reasons — but we will always offer the most generous transfer option available

Bereavement & Family Emergency

  • Immediate bereavement (loss of a spouse, parent, child, or sibling) is treated with the same compassion as medical emergency — please contact us directly
  • Supporting documentation (e.g., death certificate, medical report) will be requested respectfully and used solely for the purpose of this review
  • All emergency cases are reviewed personally by the lead teacher — not by automated policy alone

Please reach out before assuming the policy is final.

If you are facing a genuine crisis, email us at Blissofenlightenment@gmail.com with the subject “Emergency — Cancellation Request”. We will respond within 48 hours and do our sincere best to help.

Section 8

How to Submit a Cancellation or Transfer Request

All cancellation and transfer requests must be submitted in writing. Verbal or WhatsApp-only requests cannot be processed — please always follow up with an email so we have a clear written record to action your request.

Review & Confirmation

We will review your request, confirm the applicable refund or transfer based on the cancellation date, and send you a written confirmation with the refund amount or transfer credit details. For medical or emergency requests, we may request supporting documentation at this stage.

Section 10

Disputes & Chargebacks
